    Hi,
we are facing a strange issue while trying to clear a collection.

Scenario:-We have created a collection called "cdms" which was initially loaded with 1 million records.
As part of some changes we had to clear the records in this collection.

The following commands were used to achieve this
    indexeradmin.exe cleancollection cdms

It took a total of about 6 hrs for this command to complete

    Issue:-
Even after the command was completed we find that many documents are still lingering in the collection which is very strange.
And to make matters worse many of these documents are actually returned when an FQL is fired against this collection.

    Please find 2 screenshots below
    1. showing the number of records in the collection in teh overview screen where it is shown as empty

    2. second showing a more detailed view for the "cdms" collection which shows there are about 272000 records still remaining in the collection.

Any idea what may be the issue ?

    Hi,

I faced the same issue, and after using " indexeradmin -a resetindex" command this issue has been resolved.
But it will take some time after running this command.

    Thanks,
    Rohan

Yes, a reset index will obviously fix.. One flop with this is that, like the above person said its not a quick process.. especially when you have millions of records.

I was using ESP 5.2 and recently moved to 5.3 and heck I'm having this issue now.. It was not there in 5.2

Trying multiple things but nothings works.. As a work around, I'm creating new collections every time, not minding about the bugging collection which is showing results even after cleaning process..

    Thanks again for this info,

i ran the command (indexeradmin -a resetindex) and it completed in less than a minute

    C:\>indexeradmin -a resetindex
Performing admin operation for indexer in column 0, row 0
    Resetting index
    SUCCESS.

    C:\>

will wait for sometime before checking if it had the desired effect
